Department Description This department implements, optimizes, and supports all types of Motorola GEMS (Government and Enterprise Mobility Solutions) equipment within the Eastern Region. We specifically provide fully equipped Systems Technologists, trained in the latest state-of-art techniques, to various field locations within the eastern U.S. where newly sold systems are being implemented. We also provide continuing life-cycle support for our previously installed customer base.


Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

This individual will be required to implement, optimize, repair and maintain GEMS communications systems throughout the Eastern US. These could be wired or wireless systems for voice, data, video, telemetry or any other type of communications and control functions. Responsibilities will also include thorough documentation of work performed and may also be required to train end users and other personnel on equipment operation and maintenance. EXTENSIVE TRAVEL IS REQUIRED. ^^



Specific Knowledge/Skills

Must have very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance, systems to include cabling, routers, switches, and bridges.Must have strong knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks. Must have strong knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques. Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with our external customers and with our MSS community, as well as our internal sales, engineering, project management, and customer service teams. Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision. Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
